Election 2010 - The Dud Election
August 17th 2010 16:21
The 2010 Election has been in full swing since it was called, admittedly I was not aware of the election being called as like normal football loving Australians I was more interested in the football games going around. But now we have had Tony Abbott making his promises, his party taking their shots at Labor and vice versa. But I cannot help but feel that Tony Abbott just isn't really Prime Minister material.
Listening to every speech he has had, every interview he has had, just seems like he cannot do it without backtracking, and stuttering through the interviews, and press conferences, but also I do not believe that many Australians care for him anyway, I know I don't and that is why I cannot vote Liberal, not that I had planned on that anyway, not that I had actually planned to vote for either until I saw the candidates and how the election was going to unfold.
Personally I feel both candidates are dull, and haven't really made me want to say "Damn I have to vote for this person." I guess with Julia Gillard her entrance into this race may have been overshadowed by the removal of Kevin Rudd as Prime Minister of Australia, it really makes you wonder what the point of voting is.
Because if Abbott is made Prime Minister of Australia he will be removed by the end of his term by someone else making a play for his position because let's face it, he's never had any idea. Even now he pretends to, he can throw up all Labors mistakes, but the Liberals have made many in the past. Even today I was told that a vote for Labor is a vote for cost of living expense.
Well, I hate to break this to the Liberal recording but Cost of Living is going to rise no matter who we vote for, it will be going up, and I do not think that Tony Abbott has done himself any favours with his poor speeches, and his difficulty speaking in public, I do not think the Australia public would want a prime minister that cannot spit out what his policies are and other stuff.
But that is just my opinion, I do not want to comment about the policies of both as they seem to both be promising stuff that are just going to be forgotten in the near future.Tasmania dodged a bullet there in it's election with Bartlett being given the leadership of the state again despite his claim that he would stand aside should there have been a hung parliament.
I do not like David Bartlett either but I like Will Hodgman even less, his running of the Southern Football League has me seeing that he isn't the type of guy that is going to be a good person to run the state. Much like his Liberal party leader isn't the guy to run this country.
