Oops the WWE did it again!

August 17th 2010 08:32
The WWE's Summerslam PPV was hyped up to see the Nexus battle Team Cena...well actually it was Team WWE, but anyone that believed otherwise were kidding themselves. So it seemed like another Invasion angle the last time WWE did this was the WCW/ECW alliance, and we know how that went, WCW and ECW were made to look weak, there weren't any of the big name stars that would have saved that angle and it was scrapped by the wrestling world as another failed angle.

Fast forward to 2010 and WWE are doing yet another attempt at an invasion this time, it's the bright "young stars" of Nexus that could be the future of WWE, though as seen some may not make it but that's just how the business is. So now we have the Nexus they are attacking stars, they are putting some on the "shelf" and then some are quitting the team, but then they are back in town again for the team.

Nexus put on a good showing but, again, we see Cena getting the big come back win, and made to look like a super human with all the fans starting to get sick of this. Even in the crowd you could see the disapproval of Cena, but there are still some that are fans of his, naturally.

A decent outcome for the match would have been either someone turning on Team WWE to have Nexus win, or have someone turn on Nexus, either way I think Nexus didn;t look entirely weak at the PPV, but they were taken down a peg, and Cena was put over again as some kind of super hero.

Great! That's what everyone wants to see, a potentially good Nexus vs WWE feud turned into another reason for Cena to be the focal point of another angle and crammed down the throats of the wrestling fan. So what now for Nexus? Well I do not think the angle will die off, not yet anyway, but I think the early ground that was laid has been ruined a bit.

That;s just the state of the WWE at the moment, I accept the PG13 message they are promoting, but, they are ramming Cena down peoples throats when people are getting sick of him, remember the days of Hogan? He was rammed down peoples throats as a hero for years, and then he got stale/

Well Cena is stale, he's boring, he's just not that interesting and really, no one should be subjected to see the same boring Cena every week. Cena needs to be retooled and brought back with a new gimmick a new style, his current one has been done to death.

And while the kiddies may like Cena and his little rubbish, the rest of the wrestling world are starting to grow tired of the same thing, they are growing tired of the Cena character and the sooner he's updated the better.
